Physical therapy days are hard days. I need to get past this system of using food as a reward, like my culture has taught me. Graduate? Go to dinner. Get married? Have a feast. Age another year? Eat some cake. I need to cut food out of my ideas of celebrations and rewards in order to be able to continue to make healthy choices. I bent my knee 107 degrees by myself yesterday(oooooh yeah!), and went to Taco Bell as a reward. I need to look at the bending as the reward and not look to food to associate with the happy feelings of success (that thar is a VERY slippery slope!).
I was able to meet my water goal yesterday. WOOT WOOT! Drank 64 oz. The last 20 were tough, but it did help with the snack cravings. I caved and had some snacks (oh work room, you test my will power) but didn’t go too overboard. Note to self: Stay away from sour cream and onion Ritz chips, they are addicting! Again, moderation is what I am going for.
