Success: 161.8

A day of celebration!!! I am SO happy to have all my hard work pay off. I lost enough weight that I am encouraged to continue to change my lifestyle and eat healthier. I didn't lose so much that I am obsessed about the numbers, and I didn't lose so little and I give up altogether. A victorious week!

I went to the movies today for the first time since starting to change my eating habits. I love going to the movies. One part I particularly enjoy is the food: sour candy, Coke, and popcorn. I love to watch movies and eat, and eat, and eat, and eat, and eat... and that is one way that I have packed on the pounds in the past few years. Today, I went at about lunchtime and knew I'd be hungry so I made a quesedilla and cut it up into small, bite-sized pieces that would simulate the size of both popcorn and candy. It also satisfied the hand to mouth urge that I get whenever I watch something. On top of that, I got a two-fer because I had lunch and a snack in the same meal. I also brought in a small portion of soda to keep the calories low, but to also get the movie experience.

I am really proud that this worked out so well even though I know I am bad for bringing my own food into the theater. If there were healthier choices, I would have no problem spending the money on them. They should sell apple slices, baby carrots with ranch, or edamame. Flavored water and tea options in addition to soda. There you go AMC, some ideas for you!

I love the junk food movie experience, but it was so empowering to enjoy a movie without it. Baby steps.

I'm also channeling my fast food cravings into healthier, at home options. I have been REALLY wanting a Costco hot dog, but decided against it for a few reasons:
1. They always come with a soda *extra calories
2. They are HUGE *extra calories
3. The buns are likely sweetened *extra calories
4. I can't resist their sundaes *extra calories

Instead, I had a regular sized hot dog at home and some Tutti Frutti which, while neither quite hit the spot, calmed the craving enough that I can ignore it.

I am really hoping that the weather improves soon so I can ride my bike to work or after work. With the intermittent rain and wind chill (brrr) it has been plain uncomfortable to even go get the mail, much less go on any substantial bike rides.
