Happy St. Patrick's Day! Even though I am Irish, I've never been a big fan of this day. Green beer and pinching? What's to like, I've always wondered. I am very thankful that I never got into the party scene that a lot of people my age are into. I look at a lot of my friends and see that extra 5-10 lbs. of "beer gut" and think, "Whew, dodged that bullet." No disrespect to anyone, just stating the facts.
Another successful day today. Calories were on the low side again, but it was so cold today that both my activity level and metabolism slowed down. Speaking of activity levels, I did a bit of research and it turns out that I am moderately active, not light as I thought before. It makes me feel proud to be there instead of the sedentary I was this time last year. I have recovered about 95% from my knee surgery and am still working on getting those extra few degrees of flexion. After about an hour of stretching, I was able to get my heel to touch my butt for the first time in over a year. What a victory that was! But the results have not been replicated and, thus, it's not a very good example of my abilities.
