Ouch is what is first coming to mind right now. My left hip is a bit painful at the moment after 45 miles of bike riding today. Hubby and I went to see "Rockin' Ever After" and decided to bike there since it's only 2.5 miles away. I decided to go all out and had nachos (which were gross but I ate them anyways) a soft pretzel, and Mountain Dew. I ate a little over 1,000 calories, which was fine since I figure I'm allowed to go over my calorie goal every once in a while. It felt really good to be out on my bike working out.
That bike ride put a bee in my bonnet, so when I got home, I got on my stationary bike and rode 20 more miles. I was a bit annoyed trying to keep track of my real bike mileage versus my stationary bike mileage, so I asked the hubsters if he wanted to go 5 more miles with me so I'd have multiples of 10. I jokingly told him that we could go 5 or 15 miles, and when we got to our turn around point of 2.5, we decided to just go for the 15 mile round trip. When I came home, I was still feeling pretty good, plus I was already gross and sweaty, so I got on the stationary and did another 5 miles. I'd hoped to do 10, but I started to hurt so I figured I'd stop. Plus, this way I can only do 5 tomorrow if I'm really sore and still feel successful when I get to fill in a little square on my progress chart.
I'm really impressed with how strong I've gotten. At the beginning of this month, 5-10 minutes on the stationary was about all I could do. It took a really long time to get that bottom row of my chart filled in. After that, it's really just taken off. Usually, when my husband and I bike together, I have to work really hard to keep up or ask him to slow down for me. It was the opposite today and that felt really good.
I'm giving myself a pass on sit ups tonight and may or may not just double them tomorrow.
My extended family is HUGE and we get together every 5 years. I wasn't able to go to the last reunion, so some of my aunts, uncles, and cousins haven't seen me since I was 15, so I am really hoping to be in amazazazing shape when they see my in July. I hope :)
Right now, I really want a McDonald's salad...Not fries, not soda, not ice cream, salad. I like being in a good cycle where good choices lead to other good choices.
